Comporta is Portugal’s lesser known coastline, a flat, sandy peninsula ninety minutes south of Lisbon at the start of the rural Alentejo region that until recently, was a well-kept secret, a favourite with the Portuguese and a few in-the-know international travellers. This Atlantic coast is wilder and far less developed than the one on the Portuguese Algarve, its atmospheric sandy beaches backed by pine forests, rice fields, vineyards and small fishing huts rather than waterparks and back-to-back golf courses. This lack of development means Comporta retained its tranquillity and natural beauty, but it also means that the area’s infrastructure was rather more limited. Most homes aimed at the international market were bought off-plan and lacked the extensive wellness and leisure facilities and the full management service that sophisticated modern clients expected.ā€

Branded residences: next chapter in Comporta’s evolution

Now the next chapter in Comporta’s evolution is underway with the arrival of carefully chosen five-star hospitality brands to the area’s heavily protected natural setting. Six Senses is among the internationally recognised names introducing elite hotels with branded residences, bringing with them upgraded infrastructure and offering homebuyers turnkey homes with professional rental and maintenance services.

Six Senses Residences Comporta sits within the 400-hectare Pinheirinho estate.
