TURNING OUR ESG AMBITION INTO ACTION
Restoring the natural environment
Weāre committed to reducing our carbon emissions, helping to restore nature, and advocating for climate resilience in our sector.
Our UK operations rely on natural resources but also impact them.
This can be positive ā by providing spaces for people to live, work and socialise ā but also negative, adding to climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution. Weāve set six commitments to help restore the natural environment.
Part 1: Committing to net zero
Weāve set emissions reduction targets to achieve net zero by 2040.
We use a lot of energy across our UK workspaces. We want to switch to renewables, purchase in energy efficiency ways, and improve our green credentials.
Commitment 1: Secure all purchased energy from renewable sources by 2030.
- Weāre investigating how much energy we use, optimising our use, and exploring renewables.
- We plan to set an energy performance baseline, create more energy efficient workspaces, and ensure all workspaces are on a renewable contract.
- Weāll measure this by the percentage of renewable energy we purchase.
Commitment 2: Investigate Corporate Power Purchase Agreements (CPPAs) in 2025.
- Weāre reviewing available CPPAs and investigating workplace renewable projects.
- We plan to switch UK workspaces to CPPAs and integrate renewable energy projects into our operations.
- Weāll measure this by the percentage of our workspaces using CPPAs.
Commitment 3: Assess green building certification for our UK corporate offices in 2025.
- Weāre learning about green certifications to create a plan to upgrade our workspaces.
- We plan to develop an upgrade plan and ensure more efficient workspaces.
- Weāll measure this by the percentage of workspaces with green building certification.
Part 2: Restoring biodiversity
Weāre prioritising partnerships with those investing in natural services and exploring nature-based solutions.
Our UK operations rely on natural resources, so we need to play our part in preserving them. Thanks to our rural expertise, we can help our clients do the same.

Commitment 4: Understand our impact on nature in 2025.
- We’re gaining a better understanding of how our value chain interacts with nature to identify risks and opportunities.
- We plan to prioritise investment that minimises nature risk and maximises nature opportunities.
- We’ll measure this by aligning with the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD).
Part 3: Reducing pollution
Many of our UK offices have prioritised waste management.
Weāre focusing on paper waste as itās our biggest environmental impact after energy. We also want to reduce the waste we send to landfills.
Commitment 5: Reduce paper use in our corporate offices by 50% in 2025.
- Weāre looking into how and why we waste paper.
- We plan to develop recommendations to reduce paper waste.
- Weāll measure this by the percentage of paper saved.
Commitment 6: Zero waste to landfills in 2025.
- Weāre working with experts and our employees to reduce waste.
- We plan to introduce processes across our UK operations to do so.
- Weāll measure this by the percentage of waste we send to the landfill.
